The disappearance of one of the species that make up a food chain can lead to the decline of the ecosystem in question. Irreversible decline of biodiversity has a serious impact on the living standards of the people. Healthy ecosystems provide food, clean air, water and fertile soil for agriculture. Also, 40% of modern drugs are derived from plants and animals.
